Check-in must normally take place between 15.00 – 18.00, except Sunday, when check-in can take place between 16.00 – 20.00, unless otherwise agreed.

The room must be vacated no later than 10:00 a.m.

When is the reception open?

Monday – Thursday and Saturday: at 8.00-18.00

Friday: 8.00-20.00

Sunday: 8.00-12.00 and 16.00-20.00

In selected periods around holidays and public holidays, there may be changed staffing times.

From 30 June to 12 August:

Monday – Saturday: 8.00-20.00

Sunday: 8.00-12.00 and 16.00-20.00

What do I do if I arrive when reception is closed?

If you arrive outside the reception’s opening hours, the key can be left in the key box, where the code will be given to you on the same day you arrive. However, this requires that the reservation is prepaid.

Can I come and go as I please?

When you stay at our hostel, you can come in and out of the house 24 hours a day, once you’ve checked in.

Where can I park?

There is the possibility of free parking in the hostel’s own car park (entrance via Nannasvej), however, there are a limited number of spaces. If there are no more available spaces, there is public parking in the immediate vicinity.

Can I charge my electric car?

Yes, the hostel has 3 charging stations for electric cars. You can pay by card and with MobilePay.
The stands can only be used by hostel guests.

Do I have to bring my own linen and towels?

Use of bed linen is mandatory. You can bring your own or rent a linen package from us. Rental of linen package incl. towels cost DKK 75.00 per set. Violation results in a fee of DKK 250 per bed!

When should there be quiet in the hostel?

In order to have the possibility of a good night’s sleep, there must be peace with us from 23.00-07.00.

Is there a kitchen I can use?

There is access to a large guest kitchen with the possibility of self-catering. In the guest kitchen you will find pots, pans, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, etc. kitchen utensils etc.

In addition, you will of course find plates, cups, glasses and cutlery etc.

It is possible to buy groceries within walking distance of the hostel.

Can I bring my own drinks into the hostel?

It is not permitted to bring your own drinks. When consuming your own drinks, a fee of at least DKK 500.00 is imposed, and in the worst case it can lead to expulsion without any form of refund. It is possible to buy beer, water and wine in the house.

Where can I smoke?

Smoking is not allowed indoors. Violation results in a charge for extra cleaning of DKK 1,000.
In our outdoor areas you will find a smoking pavilion where smoking is permitted.

Can I bring my pet?

You are welcome to bring a dog with you. It costs DKK 100 per Day. Please note that there are only a few selected rooms where dogs are allowed. Please contact reception for more information

Can I cancel my reservation?

If you wish to cancel your reservation, this must be done as soon as possible. We only accept cancellations via email: dk@danhostel-svendborg.dk

If you have booked one or two rooms, you can cancel your reservation up to three days before arrival for a cancellation fee of DKK 100 per room.
Reserved room. If there are less than three days until your arrival, the reservation is binding and the full amount for the stay must be paid, incl. ordered additional services.

What should I see in Svendborg and the surrounding area?

Svendborg has a lot to offer, both culturally and nature experiences.

What can I do at the hostel Danhostel Svendborg?

With a stay at our hostel, you have plenty of opportunities for a lot of exciting activities and experiences.

For the active, southern Fyn can be experienced from the water with a kayaking holiday; you can explore the idyllic landscape with a cycling holiday on the area’s many cycling routes, or get sore feet and nature experiences in a special class on the Øhavstien, one of the best hiking trails in Denmark. If you need to speed up the pedals, you can try your hand at southern Fyn’s many mountain bike tracks and beautiful forest roads, and if you are a golf enthusiast, Fyn also offers plenty of opportunities to train your skills on the many fine golf courses. If you like an island atmosphere, unique nature and idyllic villages, you can take ferries from Svendborg Harbor to many of the islands in the southern Fyn Archipelago. You can see more about island hopping in the southern Fyn Archipelago and learn more about the islands here.

You can also rent our fine retro Puch Maxis, complete with green milk boxes and fox tails. From the moped saddle, you can explore Svendborg and the surrounding area on your own or with a group of friends, and there is also the option of guided tours with lots of stories and sights.
